High on #BonaHill with breathtaking views over the city, #KremenetsCastle is an iconic 12th CE #StoneFortress #CastleRuin. In the 1530s the Polish Queen #BonaSforza turned it into a palace, with thick limestone walls, 3 towers & an 80m well. One of the most impregnable strongholds in #Galicia, it resisted #Mongol & #Tatar attacks, but finally fell to #Cossack forces in 1648.

Ukrainian aristocrat Prince #JanuszWisniowiecki inherited #ZbarazhCastle in the 17th CE after Uncles Krzysztof & Yerzy, last of the royal #PolishLithuanian #Zbaraski family, had built the #Castle & vanished leaving no heirs.
