The oldest #WoodenChurch in the #LvivRegion, the #DescentoftheHolySpiritChurch in #Potelych is a #UNESCOWorldHeritageSite. Funded by local potters and built in 1502 upon the ashes of #StBorysGlibChurch, it’s a #Galicia masterpiece with 3 naves, a 17th CE iconostasis & c.1630 paintings. Visited by #Cossack Leader #BohdanKhmelnytsky it inspires Ukrainian Orthodox faith & craft.

High on #BonaHill with breathtaking views over the city, #KremenetsCastle is an iconic 12th CE #StoneFortress #CastleRuin. In the 1530s the Polish Queen #BonaSforza turned it into a palace, with thick limestone walls, 3 towers & an 80m well. One of the most impregnable strongholds in #Galicia, it resisted #Mongol & #Tatar attacks, but finally fell to #Cossack forces in 1648.
