One of Ukraine’s oldest monasteries, it is a #UNESCOWorldHeritageSite, the #AssumptionCathedral was built by #SviatoslavII, son of #YaroslavTheWise & finished by his 3rd son #Vsevolod. Destroyed by Russians in 1941 & rebuilt in the 1990s, it enshrines 1000 yrs of #Christianity

Funded by local potters and built in 1502 upon the ashes of #StBorysGlibChurch, it’s a #Galicia masterpiece with 3 naves, a 17th CE iconostasis & c.1630 paintings. Named after the 6th CE #Cathedral in #Constantinople #HagiaSophia Holy Wisdom, #YaroslavTheWise funded construction in 1037 to celebrate a war victory. Founded in 1011 by his Father #VolodymyrTheGreat, this #Byzantine paragon showcases 3K sq m of frescoes, golden mosaics & Ukraine's faith, art & heritage.

Over 10K outstanding works of Fine #Art by prominent artists of the 19th / 20th CE are at the #OdesaNationalFineArtsMuseum it was hit by a #RussianMilitaryAttack on Nov 6th 2023 on the night of its 124th anniversary. Located in one of #Odesa’s oldest palaces it is part of a #UNESCOWorldHeritageSite

The #OdesaNationalFineArtsMuseum was built by the Polish Diplomat #SewerynPotocki. Construction started in 1805 but stalled during the #NapoleonicWar. Potocki died in 1829 & did not see the #Palace completed - ownership changed hands many times until it was sold to the #OdesaSocietyofFineArts in 1890 & the #Museum opened 9 years later on Nov 6th 1899 #UNESCOWorldHeritageSite
