In 1675, the besieged #Fortress surrendered to the Turks on condition that all would go free. The commander & his sons were impaled - the rest abducted into slavery.

In the 1530s the Polish Queen #BonaSforza turned it into a palace, with thick limestone walls, 3 towers & an 80m well. One of the most impregnable strongholds in #Galicia, it resisted #Mongol & #Tatar attacks, but finally fell to #Cossack forces in 1648.

Built in the 1640s by Polish nobleman #MarcinKalinowski, its unique ship-shape stretches 178m & is guarded by 7 towers. Sacked by the 1672 #Ottoman invasion & abandoned in the 18th CE, this haunted #CastleRuin remains a potent symbol of Ukraine’s resilience.
