In the 1530s the Polish Queen #BonaSforza turned it into a palace, with thick limestone walls, 3 towers & an 80m well. One of the most impregnable strongholds in #Galicia, it resisted #Mongol & #Tatar attacks, but finally fell to #Cossack forces in 1648.
