Built 1888, when people did not have a kitchen, shower, bath or hot water, the #OrmeauBaths gave community access to 36 public baths & 2 swimming pools. Designed by #RobertWatt this red brick #Victorian Bath House was used by kids, families & workers to play, wash & swim for 100 yrs. before structural cracks & modernisation forced its closure & sale in 1990. #Belfast #Heritage

Destroyed 17.03.2022 by Russian Military Attack: the Central #HouseOfCulture in #Irpin was built in 1954 by local people at their own expense when #Ukraine was in a period of reconstruction after #WW2. It was an architectural #Monument, cultural #Heritage site & active #Community centre that hosted studios, classes, clubs & events https://ui.org.ua/en/postcard/house-of-culture
