Connecting #Wapping to #Rotherhithe , it is now part of #LondonTransport ’s overground. The tunnel is still used by trains & the nearby #BrunelMuseum give visitor tours to explore #Victorian engineering & discover #LostLondon .

#HaggerstonBaths in #EastLondon provided #Haggerston ’s residents with public access to warm water facilities for washing & swimming. Designed by #AlfredCross , the #Edwardian pool hall opened in 1904 & closed in 2000. Despite campaigns to refurbish & re-open the site, the derelict pool halls remain frozen in time – a reminder of #LostLondon ’s #CulturalHeritage & #Hackney ’s past.

Linking #Holborn to the #Embankment the #KingswayTramTunnel was built for #Trams . Opened in 1906 & closed in 1952, the southern end is now used as an underpass for traffic. The north end is #GradeIIListed & used for storage, film & events. Despite a nearby fire in 2015, the original #LondonUnderground structure endures, echoing #LondonTransport ’s #IndustrialHeritage #LostLondon

On the bank of the #RoyalDocks East London #MillenniumMills served as a Flour Mill. Built in 1905, its concrete #ArtDeco facade is an icon of an industrial age. Closed in 1981, its perished shell saw 20th CE progress & was a #FilmLocation in #DerekJarman 's #TheLastofEngland . Marked for development into offices & flats, it reflects #LostLondon ’s working-class #IndustrialHeritage

#LotsRoadPowerStation opened in 1905 to power the #LondonUnderground . Its red-brick facade & chimneys, named #CathedralOfPower , embody the ingenuity of British #IndustrialArchitecture . Closed in 2002, its vast interior awaits transformation. Tours showcase this #LostLondon landmark of #LondonArchitecture , a tribute to #IndustrialHeritage that fuelled #LondonTransport

#CharingCross station was the original terminus for the #JubileeLine when it opened in 1979, but when the line was extended in 1999 to serve #CanaryWharf , the trains were re-routed & they do not stop there anymore. Hidden below street level near #StMaryLeStrand the #Victorian #PublicToilets on the #Strand were closed years ago but remain in plain sight. Now one of London’s #AbandonedPlaces these forgotten spaces were made with care & kept city streets clean & healthy - a constant reminder of longstanding traditions & values towards #SocialCare #Equality & #CivicResponsibility
