#KyivPecherskLavra was founded in 1051 by #StAnthony of #MountAthos & grew under #StTheodosius’ guide. One of Ukraine’s oldest monasteries, it is a #UNESCOWorldHeritageSite, the #AssumptionCathedral was built by #SviatoslavII, son of #YaroslavTheWise & finished by his 3rd son #Vsevolod. Destroyed by Russians in 1941 & rebuilt in the 1990s, it enshrines 1000 yrs of #Christianity
