In 2001, #UPA veterans established a memorial to #RomanShukhevych a Ukrainian #MilitaryLeader whose fight for independence ended in 1950, when his house was surrounded by Soviet Forces & he was killed in a firefight. To honor his heroic last stand & Ukraine’s fight for #Freedom, the #LvivHistoricalMuseum turned the house into a #Museum - hit by a #RussianMilitaryStrike in 2024

Pianist & civil engineering graduate from Lviv, General #RomanShukhevych was a #UkrainianNationalist who led #UkrainianInsurgentArmy partisan troops, Ukrainska Povstanska Armiya #UPA, in a guerrilla war against #Wehrmacht & resist #SovietUnion forces during & after #WW2. Events leading up to his dramatic assassination are told in the Ukrainian film Neskorenyi #TheUndefeated
