The 1st British woman to obtain the Degree Master of Surgery, Doctor #LouisaAldrichBlake was a #Pioneer of modern #Medicine. She was the 1st female surgeon, 1st woman Surgical Registrar & the 1st person to perform surgery on rectal & cervical cancers. A Senior Surgeon by 1910, her authority grew during #WW1 & she was appointed #Dame #DBE in 1925 #Monument #Camden #London
