#RadcliffeCamera was designed by architect #JamesGibbs. Built in 3 stages over 12 years, the neo-classical construction was funded by the bequeathed estate of the physician #JohnRadcliffe. Opened in 1749, the building was originally a Science Library & was run independently until 1927, when the freehold was transferred to #OxfordUniversity.
