The #GreatExhibition also included a reconstruction of the ‘Great Horsham Iguanodon’ which had been discovered by #GeorgeBaxHolmes in 1840 during the construction of #StMarksChurch in the town. Holmes' discovery played a role in the ‘Dino Mania’ of the 19th century, which continues with the recent classification of the Horshamosaurus.

#HorshamMuseumSociety was founded in 1893 & in 1941 moved into #CausewayHouse, one of the oldest houses on #TheCauseway, dating from 1450. On display are objects relating to the #Horsham area, a gallery of local artists & a room dedicated to the poet #PercyByssheShelley. The walled #MuseumGarden was laid out in 1981 with plants evolved from medieval herbs, roses & shrubs.
