Built for the ‘Exposición Universal de Barcelona’ 1888, to honour Columbus' 1st voyage to America & his naval exploration achievement, Columbus points out to sea towards the New World with his right-hand whilst holding a scroll in his left. Sculpted by Rafael Atché the #monument stands as a reminder that #Columbus reported to Queen Isabella I and King Ferdinand V of #Barcelona.
