#InnovativeEngineering sparks controversy at #TheWalkieTalkie. #RafaelVinoly's 20 Fenchurch Street design, features a distinctive #TopHeavyDesign to maximise upper-level floorspace, using a small footprint. Completed in 2014, the 38-storey tower with a 28K sqm geometrically complex curtain wall, won the 2015 #CarbuncleCup despite its bold reimagining of a commercial skyscraper.

#PublicAccess at #TheWalkieTalkie Sky Garden. Split across levels 35-37, the #SkyGarden offers free 360° views, a Mediterranean vibe & restaurants, 160m above street-level. Despite initial "death ray" issues, needing 8K shades to dampen scorching sunlight reflections to be fitted, this bold form demonstrates how contemporary architecture challenges convention & accessibility.
